About

A reference built the boring way

Most homeschool pages are either an advocacy site with a legal page, or a directory that has not been updated since 2019. This one is a small, source-linked reference with a printable record book.

What this is

Three state packs — Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia — covering the parts families actually have to act on: whether there is a filing, when it is due, which subjects are required, how time is counted, what assessment is expected, and which records to keep.

Each pack ends with a record-keeping checklist and a print-formatted log. The checklist is stored in your browser; the log is a sheet you can put in a binder.

What this is not

How the research is done

Each pack starts from the state agency page and the statute it cites. Claims are paraphrased, with short quotes where the exact wording matters — a deadline, a stanine, a course list. Sources are fetched on the date stamped on the page, and every section carries the source chips it depends on.

Where a rule is set locally — a district form, an Option IV evidence standard — the pack says so in the “Not verified here” list instead of guessing. That list is part of the product, not an apology for it.

All three packs currently verify against sources read on 21 October 2026. The per-page updated date changes only when those sources are re-read.

Who it is for

Families starting home education in one of the three states, families moving between them, and anyone who has to reconstruct a year of records after the fact. It is written for a parent with a browser and a printer, not for a lawyer.
